A Trip Down South - Alaska!

Here are a few pictures from our trip to south Alaska.

We were really glad that Rebekah was able to come with us on our trip. It all started with a 12 hour train ride from Fairbanks to Anchorage. The train car we traveled in was really nice and roomy. And there was an observation car that the kids loved. Cader took this picture from there.

And we had a few activities planned, but some exploring at the children's area at the Rasmuson Museum was really nice. Our tickets were day passes, so we went twice in one day. Rebekah and Cader loved it and wanted to go back the next day!

Douglas meet us when he was able to leave Atqasuk. We all went to H2Oasis in Anchorage. There is a "river" that runs the perimeter of the building, about 10 to 12 feet wide and three feet deep. You can get the tubes to ride or just walk/float with the flow. I really like that.

I've learned that Rebekah has no fear. She got me to go on the highest water slide (And I don't like any rides!) that has a tunnel that is closed in and drops several times at the speed of sound. : )

We went to the Alyeska Resort and rode a tram to the top of the mountain and learned about Cook Inlet. The guide said that they get around 800 to 1000 inches of snow each year. It covers the trees so completely on the mountain, you ski over the trees!

Seward was our most southerly destination and it was beautiful. Mama came to meet us and we went to the Sea Life Museum in town. This is the cabin were we stayed. At the end of the road, you can find great pictures in every direction.
If you get a chance to visit us, beware! This is the first vacation (and the best) in forever AND I was armed with a camera most of the time. ; ) This post looks pretty well spaced now, but I can't guarantee what it will look like once it's publish. I don't understand why things change places yet. If you have any advice, please let me know. Rm

I'm doing a disclaimer now. The spacing did change and the size of the pictures. So... I tried.

Thanks, Littie... I think. : ) Have to admit I had to look that one up. Did you resently read that or did you have to work hard to come up with phantasmagorical?

Love my Littie!

Littie says she thinks she read that word somewhere.

The cabin looked really cozy. And the view from Alyeska - wow. I missed a lot, but I too am glad Rebekah got to go. Thanks so much.
