Summer 2010 (original huh?)

Well, I've been working on this for way too long...something has changed about how to move photos around on blogger and I've just finally caught on. So here is a variety of photos taken throughout the summer, except for this 1st one which was taken of Rebekah and her science fair project back in March. She and her partner learned about the Bernoulli Principle - which has to do with moving air having lower pressure. The balloon was hovering over the hair dryer.

Littie has had the wonderful privilege this summer of working a job that she does not care for. In her own words, "...to learn what I don't want to do for the rest of my life...and the importance of an education." (thanks for the wisdom Aunt Kim) So here she is, in her Blockbuster uniform shirt, on her way to work. Just one more week left, then she'll have a week to prepare to leave for Master's Commission. If you haven't heard about this already, she's going to be involved in a discipleship training program in Clearwater, FL for 9 months. We're excited and nervous and I can hardly believe she's about to leave...

Okay, this one's silly, but I carried my camera in the car for about the last 20 miles just so I could catch this...notice the numbers on my odometer. Funny huh? :)

I just had to try some trick photos while that enormous mushroom was still around.

And here...the last remnants of summer, Mary's Mary Jane sun tan.

Now, it's back to the school year routine...here I'm dropping off Rebekah on the first day of school...Pipsi loves to ride with us and bark at all the people.

Mary giving Timothy a good-bye hug. Those of you who have been here recently know that Mary gives very lengthy farewells..."Good-bye, I love you, I'll miss you, good-bye, don't hit any rocks, don't die, talk to God, ditto, peace." The "ditto" was added in after Rebekah started replying "Ditto" in reply to Mary's mile-long good-byes.

Sweet huh...

In way of an update on Timothy's summer...after the short high school baseball season, he began playing with the American Legion BB league. Shortly after the season started, he had the opportunity to play with an Arizona USA Select team for a week at an event in Omaha, NE and attend the College World Series. He finished up the American Legion season about a week ago. He's been chosen to play this fall with the Alaska Baseball Academy and will be playing in the Arizona Senior Fall Classic tournament in October. This a showcase tournament attended by many college scouts and recruiters. If you want to read more about it, here's the website - http://www.azfallclassic.com/senior_classic/index.htm. You have to cut and paste it into the address bar.

Update on Jackie: I made an "A"!!! Woohoo! To catch up any of you who aren't aware, I'm going back to school to finish my nursing degree. I took two semesters of Anatomy and Physiology crammed into about 12 weeks this summer. What a lot of information to learn in a short time. And I absolutely could not have done it without Littie. She stayed with Mary and Rebekah, cooked, did laundry and they all helped with housework while I was in school. They were real troupers.

Also, check out Littie's Postings. I'm adding some of her recent photos. And here is the CMC website in case any of you want to learn more about the program she'll be involved in - http://clearwatermc.net/v3/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 (again, you'll have to cut & paste)
