A Playful Saturday

We started the day with sleeping late - that's 7:15 for me. Later we went outside and attempted to remove ice/snow from the cement (because they're all so anxious to play basketball and ride scooters and bikes on it). Not much success, so we went walking...Timothy and Rebekah searching out ice covered water puddles... breaking the ice is so much fun...Mom slipping and sliding on the road, thankful I had the stroller to hold on to. Back home, around noon Rebekah and I played airplane and other goofy-roll-around-on-the-floor kind of stuff. That's when she got the idea, "Oh Mama, let's do like we did before and pull the mattress and pillows and blankets down here and jump on it from the trampoline!" Soooo WE DID! Of course, we had to wait for Dad to go to work at 6pm before destroying the livingroom and running wild. We even invited friends over to join in our "spring fling". They brought chocolate cream pie and sparkling cider! How perfect was that!?! They were even willing to play Scrabble with me - even gladly. For some reason, Rebekah is the only one of my kids who is willing to play this (my favorite) game with me, which means I'm sort of playing by myself. So anyway, this was Saturday... I should skip chores and play more often...

This is Mary's "Alaskan weather-proof stroller"...these are quite popular around here.

Not too sure about this video stuff...this is a very short, muted video of Rebekah' fun idea.

Kimberlee, HELP! I'm getting a little frustrated here. How can you edit (put words where you want them, arrange pictures, etc) when the editing window shows things differently than what they show up like on the blog page. Even the preview window doesn't look anything like the blog page. I can't seem to match words with pix. How do you do this??? And did you notice that text at the beginning of this post are linked. I have no idea how that happened, but they seem to be linked to the picture of Rebekah. Any advice?

Okay,I figured out how to get rid of the linking problem. But another thing is when I'm trying to move things around, a picture often just disappears and I have to upload it/them again. Is there an editing tudor somewhere? I'll check on that. I'm writing all this on here in case anyone else is having these problems (all 2 of us :)

Okay, I'm talking to myself here, but I started thinking - all these questions are the same ones that Lynn asked me when she first got started. I think it has to do with the layout format you pick when uploading the photos. I think the first time I did it I picked NONE.

This is my lunch time and I only have about five minutes left, but I use the NONE option and LARGE and you have to remember that photos are being treated like words...meaning that you have to click right beside the photo to add space, etc. Also, I've noticed that photos only load from the top of the page, so either you have to load them with the photo you want on bottom FIRST or you have to click and drag each new photo down to where you want it. I've started putting all the photos in first and adding text later. I don't do the wrap around stuff because that is really a pain to control.

Adding photos from flickr is easier as far as text goes, but the photos are larger if you upload them from your computer and you don't have to resize them manually that way.

We can talk on the phone tonight if you want to and have time.

Love you...good luck!

Two seconds? That's maybe the shortest video in the history of videos depicting small children jumping on stuff in their house...in Alaska. :)

It was cool though! And the jumping thing looked like fun. You're such a good mom!

Love you!

Kimberlee,

Thanks for putting all your comments about building a post on here. I've been wondering the same thing, but haven't had the time to try out other ways yet. Hopefully later today I'll get a chance to get some things on here.

Jackie,

Thank you for sharing all your children on here. I've really liked learning more about Littie's every day doings. Sorry I haven't been that active. Timothy looks like he has grown a foot since he was here. How tall is he? Pushing that little buggy he looks well over six feet. I'm sure he likes looking down on you. :) Watch Rebekah take off and be a tall one too.

What's going on with April? Why would it be harder for her to add her "stuff"? Wouldn't she be seeing the same things we are? Do any of you know if she has even looked at this?

Love to my fellow blog sisters

Rm,
I did get an email from April near the start of this, saying that she wanted to do it...that was also around the time those people were coming from UNT. I called her on her birthday, but got the answering machine, left a message and haven't heard back.

Kimberlee, where do you look to see the computers that have visited your blog?

Hey, Jackie.

www.sitemeter.com

I emailed April after not being able to get her on her birthday and she said they are in Thailand for a conference or something.

I have loved seeing the photos too. Somehow it seems easier than email attachments. :)

Ok Blogger, I thought that was something that came out of your nose. Look at what Y'all have started now you have me thinking of starting to pick my nose, wait I mean create a Blog. Your kids are growing up and it looks cold up there. I am planning on coming up to Dads the last weekend in July. You should come down and visit if you can.

Well, hello stranger! Glad you stopped by to visit us boogers, I mean bloggers :)

Yes, as you can see, my kids are passing me up and yes it's kinda cold up here...warming but still too darn cold for true spring...got about 5 inches of snow today...ugh.

Would like to see you but I'm not making any promises...it's about a 12 hour trip from here...

When you get that blog started let me know the address and I'll link it to this one. I've seen your kids on Lynn's blog...they are beautiful, just like their mom :)
