Senior Passage & Graduation

The seniors at Star of the North are honored to have 2 ceremonies in celebration of this milestone in their lives. Graduation was last Monday night and included both SON campuses with 60-70 students. There were all the traditional rituals...marching in, speeches, walking on stage, shaking hands, accepting diplomas, and, of course, throwing of the hats. But on Friday before graduation, SON North Pole campus held a more personal and more casual "Senior Passage" ceremony where they talked about each individual student, gave out some not-so-traditional awards (Littie got the "Most likely to become a school librarian" Award) and presented each senior with an heirloom quality quilt made specifically for them. She was also among those recognized for earning the UA Scholars Program Scholarship and the John Harris Scholarship. She will also get a supplemental scholarship through UAF which required a 26 or better on the ACT. GO Littie!
