Lucia and I had a wonderful trip to Denali National Park this week. I thought we would likely see wildlife, but I had no idea we'd have such a close encounter or I would have brought my video camera. We watched this mother grizzly and her two cubs as they meandered around eating berries then gradually made their way up the hill to our bus. As they crossed in front of the bus, one precocious little cub came up to the tire near the driver and BIT IT ! They then proceeded across the road and grazed on the other side where we had another great view. It was amazing to watch them. We saw them again on the trip back and the two cubs were playing/fighting/tussling, but a little too far away to get a good photo. Watching them in the binoculars was awesome though.

The online weather forcast for Denali showed cloudy, cool conditions for the whole week. So we were amazed and knew we were extremely blessed when we had perfect weather and a rarely seen, complete view of Mt.McKinley. It hardly looked real. Made the dusty 6 hour bus ride well worth it.

Great pictures! We love the view of Denali. You and Lucia look like sisters. You too are about the same age right?? jim
Oh, Jim. If you only knew! Lucia is actually closer to Littie's age these days. :)
Great photos, Jackie! I'm so glad you and Lucia were able to see wildlife up close and actually get a decent view of Denali!
