Springtime Fun

I've really dropped the ball with adding photos to the family blog this spring.  It's been a busy time for everybody, but I wanted to share some of the fun stuff in spite of my tardiness.  :)

A very generous business woman from Barrow donated Easter baskets to all the elementary students at our school!  I think Cader racked up this year!

We also make sure that eggs are ordered in advance, so that every student in the school can decorate real eggs if they want to.  They get to take them home.  This is Cader's teacher helping to ensure that the paint ends up on the eggs and not around the classroom (or on other people!).

It looks like Cader is leaving a lot of white space on his egg, but actually he needed to do that. Some of the classes used an oil-based kit that (along with a plastic bag) produced really interesting effects.

Like this...

...and this!

And then there was Fitness Day! Held on a Saturday, I think it was basically a way to make up for too many weather days that left us short on attendance for the year, but the kids didn't seem to care why they were getting to have races and challenge themselves physically.

Here Cader is using those HUGE MUSCLES (yes they are...just ask him to show you) to pull himself in a scooter race.

After the competition, there was time for a few extra heats, just for fun. Since the group had an odd number, first grade teacher, Mr. T, gave Cader a push. I'll bet that was a fast ride!

And, finally, Awards Day rolled around.

Congratulations, Cader! You did a great job!
